Snow!
We finally got snow for the winter! It was less than an inch and was basically all gone by the afternoon, but it was on a day that the girls didn't have school, so they got to play with Adrian in the morning. We got all our snow gear on, and they had fun trying to gather enough for a mini snowman. Adrian was happy to have the layers and had to repeatedly come back to me to help put his gloves back on because Buttercup tried to steal them from him a few times. I've been okay with not having heavy snow this winter and only mildly being cold, but it was cute to have the kids so excited to play for a day. Now we can get onto SPRING! But honestly, we probably have a few more weeks of cold and frost to survive. I will say it's much easier to let Adrian play outside without all the snow gear and only have to worry about the shoes and coat. He has been very 'helpful' when cooking, vocal when asking for food and sweets, and so playful.
Feburary
Chris and I are leaving for our anniversary vacation and coming back on Valentine's Day, so we celebrated early with our kids by giving them their gifts early. I want them to use the bags for their school party, or else I might have waited until we got back, but seeing them excited is really cute, and they've been playing mail all afternoon during Adrian's nap. Claire is the Mailgirl and delivers our letters to Shay and herself, and then delivers their answers back to our mailbox, which I've had since our wedding. It is cute and makes life a little more magical when they have fun with new games. We tried to prep the girls for our trip by giving them rewards for their responsibility this week, and they earned them all, even if two of them were making up for missing them the day before. I want them to help their grandma, who is coming to watch them, and then later their aunt and uncle.
